Patch On, Pirate Up for Talk Like a Pirate Day
We are participating in Talk Like a Pirate Day on Thursday 19th September. This is close to our hearts. 💛
Childhood Cancer Support provided us with a place to stay together during the toughest time, when Brax was getting treatment to fight his leukaemia.
On 9th August 2021 our world changed in a blink. I took Brax for an x-ray as he hadn't been able to walk then our Dr sent us to Sunshine Coast University Hospital where they did and ultrasound and bloods and discovered Brax had leukaemia. We never imagined we would not be going home. The next morning we were in an ambulance and off to Queensland Children's Hospital in Brisbane (QCH).
Childhood Cancer Support (CCS) provided our family a home and amazing support, not only while we were in Brisbane living, but this continued when we needed regular visits where we would stay in their short term stay house.
Childhood Cancer Support is asking us to Patch on, Pirate Up for Talk Like a Pirate Day and help raise funds for regional families who need to relocate for paediatric oncology treatment.
Childhood Cancer Support provides families with free short-term and long-term accommodation, fully equipped with everything they need as well as food, transport and counselling services. We take away the added stress and burden so that families can focus on their child.
All funds raised will go towards building a new accommodation village close to the hospital to help support more families. Please donate now to help us reach our fundraising goal (Or take it one step further and Patch On, Pirate Up with us!).
