Each year we get together and ride our Postie bikes around regional Queensland, usually for a week and cover about 2,000 kms.
This year’s ride will depart Mackay Saturday 24th August and return to Mackay the following Saturday 31st August. We will be visiting some of the great lakes around Central Queensland, Maraboon, Awonga and Monduran for overnight stops and a couple of smaller ones. The event will close with a celebration dinner for riders and families.

Meet Matilda & the Murrell family from Hervey Bay.
Two-year old Matilda (Tilly) is a busy little girl from Hervey Bay overflowing with life and sass. From the moment her eyes open in the morning Tilly is ready for adventure. Tammy and Michael were busy as could be with their two children and their third on the way.
Tammy went into labour five weeks early and after spending a week in care in hospital, Tammy was able to return home to celebrate Tilly’s second birthday. However, Tammy and Michael started to notice something different about their usually vibrant little girl.
After one quick look at Tilly, the GP sent them straight to the emergency room for an immediate blood transfusion. Later that night their worst fear became a reality as the doctors conveyed their concerns that they were almost certain Tilly had cancer. Just a short 24 hours later, on 9 February , Tilly was officially diagnosed with Leukaemia.
“Without Childhood Cancer Support I’m not sure how we would have been able to get through the last six months. Thanks to Childhood Cancer Support we’ve been able to stay together as a family unit and live our life as normal as possible with routine and the comforts of home."

How your support will help.
We provide a range of services to help families stay together, and close to the care they need.
We support our families during this time by providing a stable living environment close to the hospital. A home away from home, where families can have a meal after a long day of treatment, complimentary patient transport and free counselling by a qualified social worker throughout their stay.
To meet the demand in supporting more regional families impacted by childhood cancer we are redeveloping and renovating five old houses into a 15-unit accommodation facility for families to call home whilst their child undergoes life- saving cancer treatment at the Queensland Children’s Hospital. This $10 million capital works project will offer a further 5,475 nights of accommodation to more than 60 families each year. All funds raised, will go towards making this vision a reality.
