Terms & Conditions
By registering for and participating in this event, all participants agree to the following terms and conditions:
1. Event Organiser
This event is a third-party fundraising event organised independently by the Event Organiser and is being conducted in support of Childhood Cancer Support Inc. Unless otherwise stated in writing, Childhood Cancer Support Inc is not the organiser of the event and is not responsible for the management, operation or delivery of the event.
2. Participation
All participants take part in the event at their own risk. By registering, participants acknowledge that they are medically and physically fit to participate in a walking or running event and understand the nature of the activity involved.
Participants must follow all event instructions, signage, safety directions and any instructions given by event officials, volunteers or emergency personnel.
3. Parent or Guardian Consent
Participants under the age of 18 must have the consent of a parent or legal guardian to register and participate. The parent or guardian accepts these terms and conditions on behalf of the minor.
4. Health and Medical Responsibility
Participants are responsible for assessing their own physical fitness and ability to safely take part in the event. If a participant has any medical condition, injury or concern that may affect their participation, they should seek medical advice before registering.
Participants must immediately stop participating and seek assistance if they feel unwell during the event.
5. Assumption of Risk
Participation in a run or walk event involves inherent risks, including but not limited to slips, trips, falls, collisions, fatigue, dehydration, weather-related risks and other unforeseen hazards. By taking part, participants acknowledge and accept these risks.
6. Release and Indemnity
To the extent permitted by law, participants release and hold harmless Childhood cancer Support, the Event Organiser, Sophie Rethamel, sponsors, partners, volunteers, contractors and venue managers from and against any claim, loss, liability, damage, cost or expense arising from or in connection with participation in the event, except where caused by negligence that cannot be excluded by law.
Participants agree to indemnify the Event Organiser against any claim arising from their own actions, negligence or breach of these terms and conditions.
7. Event Changes, Cancellation or Postponement
The Event Organiser reserves the right to change the date, time, location, course, format or other event details at any time if required for safety, operational or other reasonable reasons, including adverse weather or circumstances beyond the organiser’s control.
If the event is cancelled or postponed, the Event Organiser will communicate this as soon as practicable.
8. Registration and Entry Fees
All registrations must be completed accurately and honestly. The Event Organiser reserves the right to refuse or cancel any registration at its discretion, including where false or misleading information has been provided or where participant behaviour is considered unsafe or inappropriate.
There is no entry fee for this event.
9. Fundraising and Donations
Where participants are fundraising as part of the event, all funds raised must be collected and submitted to their fundraising online page in accordance with the instructions provided by the Event Organiser and/or Childhood cancer Support.
Participants must not represent themselves as employees, agents or official spokespersons of Childhood cancer Support unless authorised in writing.
Participants must ensure all fundraising activities are conducted lawfully, ethically and in a way that protects the reputation of childhood Cancer Support.
10. Use of Charity Name and Logo
Participants and the Event Organiser may only use the charity’s name, logo and promotional materials with prior approval from Childhood Cancer Support These must not be altered or used in a misleading or inappropriate manner.
11. Personal Conduct
Participants are expected to behave respectfully and responsibly at all times. The Event Organiser reserves the right to remove any participant from the event, without refund, if their behaviour is unsafe, abusive, offensive, illegal or likely to negatively impact the event or others.
12. Photography and Media Consent
Participants acknowledge that photographs, video recordings and other media may be taken during the event. By participating, participants consent to the Event Organiser and Childhood Cancer Support using these images or recordings for promotional, marketing, fundraising and reporting purposes without payment or further consent, unless the participant advises otherwise in writing before the event.
13. Privacy
Any personal information collected in connection with the event will be used for the purpose of administering the event, communicating with participants, and where applicable, processing
donations and fundraising activity. Information will be handled in accordance with applicable privacy laws and the privacy policy of the Event Organiser and/or Childhood cancer Support.
14. Safety and Compliance
Participants must comply with all applicable laws, regulations, venue conditions and safety requirements. Participants must remain on designated event areas and follow traffic, pedestrian and safety controls where relevant.
15. No Transfer of Liability to Charity
The Event Organiser acknowledges that this is an independently organised third-party event and accepts full responsibility for obtaining any required permits, approvals, public liability insurance, first aid coverage, traffic management, child safety requirements and risk management measures relevant to the event.
16. Refund Policy
Unless otherwise required by law, entry fees are non-refundable, including in the event of withdrawal by a participant. No entry fee is charge for this event. Donations made to Childhood Cancer Support are also non-refundable.
17. Acceptance of Terms
By registering for or participating in the event, participants confirm that they have read, understood and agreed to these terms and conditions.
18. Independent Event Status
This event is conducted by an independent third party. Approval by Childhood Cancer Support to fundraise in support of its work does not mean that Childhood Cancer Support has organised, endorsed, supervised or assumed responsibility for the event. The Event Organiser remains solely responsible for all aspects of event planning and delivery.
